Shopkeepers said the road was dug up nearly six months ago and has been repeatedly excavated since then, causing constant dust, dirt, and severe inconvenience. Despite repeatedly informing officials of the UDA and Nagar Nigam, they alleged that both departments kept delaying action.
Due to the unsettled road and continuous debris, business activity in the area has been severely affected. Shopkeepers claimed that the lack of coordination between the contractor, UDA Secretary, and AC (Municipal Corporation) is the primary reason for the prolonged delay.
The road is also a major traffic route, making daily movement difficult for commuters as well.
Angry traders raised slogans against UDA and the Municipal Corporation and issued a three-day ultimatum. They warned that if the road is not repaired and dust issues are not resolved within three days, they will block the road and stage a complete shutdown, holding the district administration responsible for the consequences.
Former councillor Madan Singh Babbarwal, along with Khemraj Chaudhary, Narayan Chaubees, Lala Patel, Mangi Lal Prajapat, Khema Dagi, Suresh Chaudhary, Bharti Kumawat, Mahendra Solanki, Ajit Meena, Prince Ved, Panna Lal Chaudhary and many other shopkeepers were present during the protest.
