An awareness program on **“Drug-Free Living”** was organized by the Inner Wheel Club. Dr. P.C. Jain used the story of parrots—one living in a pandit’s house greeting everyone with “Namaste” and another in a butcher’s house saying “Hit and Cut”—to explain that students reflect the behavior of their teachers. He emphasized that teachers must set an example by living a drug-free life.
Dr. Jain described the signs of a student falling into substance abuse, including changes in behavior, declining academic performance, sudden aggression, forming new peer groups, and sleeping in the back of the classroom. Using posters, he raised awareness among teachers about the harmful effects of various substances and demonstrated compound exercises to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Participants also sang the song, **“Rogon ka sankat aane wala hai, nashe ko chhodo re”**, to emphasize the message.
Students were administered a pledge to remain drug-free. Dr. Jain stated, *“If we can save even one young person from substance abuse, our efforts will be meaningful.”*
He expressed gratitude to Inner Wheel Club President Chandrakala Kothari and Sachin Babita Jain for actively leading the drug-free campaign.
Principal Hanuman Sahay encouraged future teachers to remain actively involved in promoting a drug-free lifestyle.
