### World Meditation Day Special: 1972 Batch Doctors Practice Deep Meditation at Two-Day Reunion in Udaipur

Udaipur:On the occasion of World Meditation Day, doctors of the 1972 batch of RNT Medical College, Udaipur, participated in an intensive meditation session during their two-day reunion held at Rupees Resort, Dabok. The reunion was organized in a dignified and cordial atmosphere under the guidance of Dr. M. M. Mangal, Vice Chancellor of Pacific Medical University, along with Dr. Asha Khamesra and Dr. Uma Mehta.

Around 50 senior doctors from across India and abroad took part in the reunion. During the event, former classmates fondly recalled their student days and exchanged views on their long professional journeys in the field of medicine. The main objective of the gathering was to strengthen mutual bonding, cooperation and social responsibility.

On the final day of the reunion, December 21, a special morning meditation session was organized to mark World Meditation Day. The session was conducted by Dr. Shubha Surana, Assistant Professor at the School of Yogic Sciences, Pacific University, who guided the participants through a deep and focused meditation practice. All the doctors participated with full concentration and enthusiasm.

During the session, Dr. Surana explained the finer aspects of meditation and elaborated on its mental, physical and spiritual benefits, referring to concepts from the Upanishads. She emphasized that meditation not only helps relieve stress but also promotes inner awareness and balance. Her insights and guidance were highly appreciated by the participating doctors.

Sharing their experiences, the senior doctors stated that yoga and meditation have consistently provided them with energy and balance throughout their demanding medical careers. They emphasized that the younger generation should also make yoga an integral part of daily life. According to them, yoga is not merely physical exercise but a scientific and effective way of living.

The two-day reunion concluded successfully in an atmosphere of harmony, discipline and positive energy. The organizers stressed the need to continue such meaningful gatherings in the future. At the conclusion of the program, all participants resolved to practice yoga regularly and to encourage their families, friends and society to adopt yoga for a healthier and more balanced life.

The initiative taken by these senior doctors of RNT Medical College stands as an inspiring example for society and is expected to give new direction to public awareness about yoga and meditation.
