Administration Serious About Conservation of Hills and Water Sources

Udaipur — Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government remains committed to environmental conservation. In line with this vision, the Udaipur district administration is taking firm steps toward the protection and preservation of hills and water sources.
As part of these efforts, District Collector Namit Mehta conducted an inspection on Wednesday in the areas of Kailashpuri, Moonwas, Nagda, and nearby regions.
On Wednesday morning, the Collector, accompanied by UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain and other officials, visited the Kailashpuri area. During the inspection, he sought detailed on-site information from concerned officials regarding illegal hill cutting and unauthorized constructions, and reviewed compliance with earlier directives issued by the administration.
The District Collector directed officials to take action as per rules against the illegal constructions identified during the inspection and to submit a report accordingly. He clearly stated that no unauthorized construction would be allowed in the area. The Tehsildar of Badgaon was specifically instructed to maintain strict vigilance.
He also reviewed the progress of the committee formed earlier to investigate past construction activities and directed it to complete a thorough inquiry within the stipulated time frame and submit a factual report.
The Collector emphasized that maintaining environmental balance, protecting hilly regions, and ensuring compliance with land-use regulations are top priorities of the state government. He asserted that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
