Census is the Foundation of National Development Plans; Perform the Task with Seriousness

Udaipur: To ensure that the Census-2027 is conducted effectively, transparently, and accurately, a two-day training program for census officers commenced on Friday at the District Council Auditorium under the joint aegis of the Census Directorate and the District Administration. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Divisional Census Officer and Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevalramani, and Principal Census Officer and District Collector Namit Mehta.

At the outset, the Divisional Commissioner, District Collector, Deputy Director of the Census Directorate, and Master Trainer Pulkesh Sharma inaugurated the program by lighting a ceremonial lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati.

Addressing the inaugural session, Ms. Kevalramani stated that the census forms the foundation of the country’s development planning. The data collected through the census plays a crucial role in framing policies related to education, healthcare, employment, housing, and infrastructure. She urged officials to avoid any negligence in carrying out this responsibility and emphasized teamwork, discipline, and sensitivity while performing their duties.

District Collector Namit Mehta highlighted that the quality of census data directly influences government policies, making it a task of great responsibility and care. He instructed officers to thoroughly understand the training content and ensure 100 percent coverage within the stipulated timelines during fieldwork. He also encouraged officials to raise public awareness about the importance of the census and foster a cooperative environment among citizens.

Earlier, Deputy District Census Officer and Joint Director of the Statistics Department, Puneet Sharma, briefed participants about the training program. Master Trainer Mr. Sharma conducted detailed, subject-oriented sessions.

The workshop was attended by all Sub-Divisional Officers, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, and concerned personnel.
