Foreign Tourists Groove to Rajasthani Dance, Amrita Haat Mela Records ₹8.48 Lakh in Sales

Udaipur: The fourth day of the Amrita Premium League, organized under the Amrita Haat Mela, witnessed a vibrant blend of enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and cultural festivities. Foreign tourists at the fair were seen dancing to the beats of Rajasthan’s famous Kalbelia and Ghoomar folk music, adding a colorful local flavor to the atmosphere.

Women and girls enthusiastically participated in various sports competitions, showcasing remarkable talent. In the Spoon Race, Yama Kanwar secured first place, Hemlata Trivedi came second, and Geeta Kumari finished third. The Chair Race saw Jai Shri Rajpurohit in first place, Kajal Jajwa second, and Seema Devasi third.

In athletics, for the 100-meter race (girls category), Yama claimed first place, Chitra second, and Veza third. In the 100-meter race (women category), Geeta Garasiya finished first, Vimla Devi second, and Gameti secured second place. Winners were honored by national-level hockey player and coach Krishna, which further boosted the participants’ morale.

Program Deputy Director Sanjay Joshi shared that the Amrita Haat Mela has achieved total sales of ₹8.48 lakh so far. He noted that this reflects both the growing confidence of women entrepreneurs and the rising popularity of local products. Visitors eagerly explored various handcrafted items and made significant purchases to support women’s self-help groups.

The regional-level Amrita Haat is organized annually by the Department of Women Empowerment and Child Development. Its primary objective is to assist women in becoming entrepreneurs through self-help groups. Featured products include wooden toys, Kota Doria sarees, jute bags, papads, the famous Rajsamand rose syrup, and other handcrafted items. The stall “Desi Swad ka Tadka” also attracted visitors with a variety of local delicacies.

The stage was managed by Supervisor Krishna Lohar, who informed that the next day will feature a poster-making competition under the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign. Additionally, on the eve of the fair, Kamlesh Bamniya presented a spectacular puppet dance performance, thrilling the audience while delivering an impactful message on gender ratio and women empowerment.
