Maharishi Gautam Jayanti Today: Grand Vehicle Rally to Be Taken Out

Udaipur : The Gurjar Gaud Brahmin community of Udaipur will celebrate Maharishi Gautam Jayanti with great enthusiasm on Thursday, March 19. Society General Secretary Vivek Pancholi informed that in the morning, पूजा-अर्चना (prayers) and havan rituals will be आयोजित at all community buildings as well as at the Gautameshwar Mahadev Temple.

On this occasion, a grand vehicle rally will commence at 4:00 PM from Maharishi Gautam Bhawan, Hiranmagri Sector-4. The rally will pass through various routes and conclude at Orbit Resort in Shobhagpura. Community members will set up welcome gates along the route and distribute refreshments and prasad.

At 6:00 PM, a Maha Aarti of Maharishi Gautam will be performed at Orbit Resort with the sound of conch shells, followed by a community meal (prasad distribution).

Media Coordinator Professor Vimal Sharma informed that as part of the five-day celebrations of Maharishi Gautam Jayanti (Chaitra Shukla Pratipada), a Phag Mahotsav for women was organized on Wednesday at Maharishi Gautam Bhawan in Hiranmagri Sector-4.

During the event, women of the community beautifully decorated a tableau of Lord Krishna and presented devotional songs and dances based on traditional Phag themes. The program was conducted by Sudha Joshi, Preetika Pancholi, and Madhuri Chaturvedi.
