##### Serious Allegations Against Finance Controller; Union Appeals — “Save the University’s Dignity”

Udaipur. The Non-Teaching Staff Union of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, submitted a detailed memorandum to the Honorable Vice-Chancellor today in the presence of the Director of Extension Education. The memorandum highlights serious allegations concerning administrative irregularities in the Finance Controller’s office, violations of service rules, financial indiscipline, and inappropriate conduct towards regular employees.

The union stated that retired employees were being engaged without prior approval from the state government, which contravenes both the university service rules and the state financial regulations. Such actions undermine regular recruitment procedures and transparency and constitute misuse of the university’s limited financial resources.

The memorandum further mentions that when regular employees raised objections to these irregularities, the Finance Controller allegedly used insulting and abusive language, causing mental distress. Such behavior violates service conduct rules and is creating a toxic workplace environment.

Another serious allegation concerns the formation of an investigation committee by the Finance Controller to suppress news related to previous irregularities in university tenders. Shockingly, he appointed himself as the committee chairman, which the union highlighted as a clear conflict of interest. Conducting an investigation under the leadership of the accused raises serious questions about its impartiality.

Through the memorandum, the union has made three key demands to the Vice-Chancellor:

Constitute an independent committee to verify the legitimacy of retired employees engaged in the Finance Controller’s office.

Immediately relieve employees working without government approval.

Conduct an impartial inquiry into the alleged misconduct against regular employees and ensure appropriate disciplinary action.

The union warned that if the university administration fails to act within a stipulated timeframe, it will be compelled to take democratic and lawful protest measures to protect the interests of its employees. In such a scenario, the administration will bear full responsibility for any administrative, academic, or legal consequences.

Finally, the union emphasized that these steps are not directed against any individual, but aim to uphold the dignity, discipline, and transparency of the university. The union expressed confidence that the Vice-Chancellor will take prompt and decisive action to restore the institution’s ethical standards.
