PMCH inaugurated World Diabetes Week

Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) inaugurated World Diabetes Week, aiming to raise awareness among the general public through various programs. Dr. Jagdish Vishnoi, the program coordinator, outlined the activities scheduled until November 22nd, including free health check-up camps, awareness rallies, marathons, quiz competitions for MBBS, nursing, and PG students, poster competitions, and workshops.

Rahul Agrawal, Chairman of PMCH, praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of disseminating knowledge about the causes, risk factors, symptoms, and prevention of diabetes through physical education throughout the city. Dr. K. R. Sharma, Head of the Department of Medicine, during the event, provided detailed information to students about the disease and stressed the responsibility of medical professionals in diabetes prevention.

Dr. R. K. Sharma, a diabetes specialist, highlighted the rapid spread of the disease in the general population due to lifestyle factors and advocated for awareness campaigns to educate the public about risk factors, lifestyle changes, and the role of yoga, exercise, and proper nutrition in prevention and control.

The event was attended by medical professionals, including Dr. K. R. Sharma, and Dr. R. K. Sharma, who emphasized the seriousness of the disease and the need for all healthcare professionals to take it seriously, as it poses a significant risk to the lives of many patients.
