Sri Ganganagar: The elections of the District Cricket Association (DCA), Sri Ganganagar were held on Wednesday during the Annual General Meeting at Hotel Prime Residency, Sri Ganganagar. The executive committee for the term 2026–2030 was elected unopposed.
The newly elected office-bearers are:
• President: Mukesh Shah
• Senior Vice President: Jitendra Kukna
• Vice Presidents: Pradeep Pathak and Gulvinder Singh
• Secretary: Vinod Saharan
• Treasurer: Jaydeep Bihani
• Joint Secretaries: Kuldeep Singh and Prem Arora
• Technical Advisor: Anil Kumar Godara
• Executive Committee Members: Sheeshpal Singh, Surendra Godara, and Dayashankar Dovan
All nominations were verified by Chief Officer Rajendra Sharma, and the elections were officially declared. The process was overseen by Satish Vyas, observer from Rajasthan Cricket Association, Jaipur, Rajarama Dhaka, observer from District Olympic Association, Sri Ganganagar, and assistant election officer Hansraj Verma. Members of the DCA were present at the meeting. Treasurer MLA Jaydeep Bihani was absent due to assembly sessions.
Sri Ganganagar has produced several notable players: Suraj Ahuja (captain), Manav Suthar, Arjit Gupta, Vikas Jhorad, Sumit Godara, Poonam Poonia, Nishan Singh, who have represented India, Rajasthan, or played in the Ranji Trophy. Several juniors and seniors from the district are also part of national-level competitions. BCCI-certified umpires from the district include Nishan Singh (Level 2), Dheeraj Sharma (Level 1), Sushil Poonia, Chandrashekhar Yadav, Prem Sarpal, Jobanpreet Singh. Notably, Manav Suthar from Sri Ganganagar is the first player from the district to play in the IPL for Gujarat Titans.
After the election, Mukesh Shah stated that the team will focus on developing more local players to compete in Ranji Trophy and the IPL. Secretary Vinod Saharan added that every effort will be made to advance cricket in Sri Ganganagar to new heights.
