Theatre Performance in Bijnhbayala Urges Youth to Stay Away from Drugs

Sri Ganganagar: Under the ongoing “Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar Campaign” led by District Collector Dr Amit Yadav and Superintendent of Police Harishankar, an awareness-based street play was staged in Bijnhbayala to encourage youth to stay away from drugs and connect them with patriotism and the ideals of martyrs.

The play was presented by Vikram Jiyani and his team from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, along with the Red Arts Theatre Group. Artists including Vikram Jiyani, Sahiram, Lakshya Jiyani, Anshu, and Saurabh Saharan portrayed the ideas of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh through a powerful performance.

The play highlighted how today’s youth can fall into the trap of addiction, losing their dreams and family expectations, while freedom fighters dedicated every moment of their lives to the nation. One of the most emotional scenes depicted the meeting between Bhagat Singh and his sister, which deeply moved the audience.

Playing the role of Bhagat Singh, Vikram Jiyani delivered impactful dialogues, including the message that Bhagat Singh may be killed, but his ideology cannot be destroyed. He emphasized that bombs and pistols do not bring revolution—ideas do. This message inspired a sense of patriotism and awareness among the youth.

The performance conveyed a strong message that drugs destroy not just individuals but entire families and society, whereas the path of the martyrs inspires sacrifice, struggle, and nation-building. Actors Sahiram and Lakshya Jiyani also left the audience deeply reflective through their performances on the direction youth should take in life.

At the end of the program, the youth were urged to stay away from drugs, live with purpose, and adopt the ideals of the nation’s martyrs to build a strong and aware India.
