Students Made Aware About Cyber Crime in Awareness Program

Sri Ganganagar — Under the “Transformative Tuesday” initiative directed by the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, an awareness program was organized to empower youth across Rajasthan. The District Legal Services Authority Secretary, Shri Ravi Prakash Suthar (Additional District and Sessions Judge), conducted a cyber safety awareness camp at B.L. Memorial Senior Secondary School, Sri Ganganagar.

During the session, ADJ Shri Ravi Prakash Suthar addressed students and explained cyber security and cyber abuse. He said that harassment, humiliation, threats, or mental harm to someone through mobile phones, the internet, social media, or any online platform falls under cyber abuse. He also warned that people often unknowingly share personal information, which increases the risk of data theft, identity theft, and fraud.

He further highlighted the dangers of online gaming, explaining that cyber criminals may interact with children through gaming platforms, collect personal details such as addresses and phone numbers, and attempt to trap them under the guise of friendship.

He advised students to act wisely and without fear in case of cyber abuse. They should immediately take screenshots of any incident and inform parents, teachers, or a trusted adult. He emphasized that such incidents should not be hidden due to embarrassment. Students were also instructed to block offenders, report accounts on platforms, and approach cyber police or relevant authorities in serious cases. Information about the cyber helpline number 1930 was also shared.

The session also included information about child care homes (Palna Grih).

Chief LADCS Rohtash Yadav, Principal Sandeep Sharma, Assistant Public Prosecutor Kanhaiya Kumar, Defence Counsels Aman Chalana and Karan Dhawan, along with other school staff members, were present during the program.
