"Trees are the Adornments of Earth, Eradicating Pollution - Sushil Maharaj

Udaipur, August 13 - Trees are the adornments of Mother Earth. They help eliminate pollution and provide a sense of coolness to the human mind. Each individual should plant a sapling in their lifetime and take care of it until it becomes a tree.

This call was made by the international storyteller Vyas Sushil Maharaj during the ongoing Sanatan Chaturmas under the Badabadoreshwar Mahadev Temple premises on Sunday. He emphasized that in today's time, we need to contemplate, or else nature won't allow us to do so. He stressed that even if our homes become crooked, we must try to avoid cutting down trees. Planting trees is essential if we want a clean atmosphere for future generations.

He likened the task of planting trees to the tapasya (penance) of King Bhagiratha, who brought the sacred Ganga river to Earth. He said that just as Bhagiratha performed intense tapasya to bring the Ganga, we need to perform tapasya akin to that to bring greenery along with rivers. Bhagiratha's tapasya was to uplift his ancestors, and now we need to safeguard and enhance the purity of water and air for the well-being of our future generations.

Sushil Maharaj drew parallels between the descent of the river Ganga onto Earth and the significance of bathing in its waters. He explained that the story of Ahilya, who was liberated from her curse through the touch of Lord Ram's feet, demonstrates the importance of Ganga's waters. Lord Ram's repentance for placing his feet on a woman led to Guru Vishwamitra facilitating his purification by having him bathe in the Ganga. This illustrates that through the realization of sins and subsequent remorse, individuals naturally progress towards positivity.

He exhorted the present devotees to embrace the shelter of Mother Ganga by seeking liberation from their sins, leading them to feel remorse for their wrongdoings. Such a realization automatically propels a person towards a more positive and virtuous path.

Sushil Maharaj also urged the attendees to replace intoxication with the ecstasy of chanting the holy names of deities.

Media Coordinator Manoj Joshi informed that under Digambar Khushal Bharati Maharaj, the daily rituals of the Sanatan Chaturmas are ongoing at the Badabadoreshwar Mahadev Temple. Devotees come from various distances to attain spiritual merit. The sequential recitation of Panch Puranas began on July 25, and the fourth day featured the Maha Shiv Puran Katha. These devotional presentations captivate the attendees. The Katha is scheduled from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM and will continue until August 21. For the convenience of devotees from the city, bus facilities are available from Surajpol and Paneri to the Badabadoreshwar Mahadev Temple, Balicha Transport Nagar. Under Chaturmas, from October 15 to November 21, there will be a unique 54-kund havan dedicated to Goddess Bagalamukhi. Such a practice has not been undertaken anywhere else in the world."
