Annual General Meeting of Rajasthan Chess Association

The meeting was started with a warm welcome by the Interim President and Secretary to all district representatives. Representatives from 20 districts were present, fulfilling the quorum. The agenda was then presented and discussed point-wise.

Part 1:
The Secretary and Interim President welcomed all district members and exchanged good wishes.

Part 2:
The proceedings of the previous meeting were discussed and approved.

Part 3:
It was informed that a letter was received from the Registrar Cooperative stating that since Rajasthan Chess Association (RCA) is currently disputed and under investigation, elections for RCA, claimed by another group, cannot be conducted until an Ad-hoc Committee is formed by the Registrar Cooperative and the Rajasthan Sports Council. The Sports Council also recommended that affiliation of the state chess body would be difficult to restore until the Ad-hoc Committee is formed and elections are conducted by it. Hence, all districts unanimously decided to recommend the Registrar Cooperative and Secretary of Sports Council to form the Ad-hoc Body.

Part 4:
The Secretary updated about a recent case filed in the Delhi High Court, where the honorable court has directed that the matter should be filed in Rajasthan jurisdiction. The Secretary was authorized by RCA to file FIR or case.

Part 5:
An update was given about the latest case involving All Bihar Chess Association against AICF and the decision on that case.

Part 6:
Discussion about former President Mr. Mahavir Ranka, who illegally froze the SBI bank account, despite being expelled earlier through the AGM. He has no constitutional right to do so. It was decided to issue a show-cause notice to Mr. Mahavir Ranka.

Part 7:
All district representatives were informed that the Chess Federation of India (AICF) has released Rs. 7 lakh to the state association, which will be utilized to financially assist districts for organizing state selection tournaments. It was decided that after the account becomes operational, the financial assistance will be provided accordingly.

Part 8:
The Secretary informed all districts that RCA has not been able to complete the audit for the last 3 years because the accounts of the Bikaner GM Tournament have not yet been shared by former President Mr. Mahavir Ranka and Shankar Lal Harsh. Also, the appointed auditor has not received any information from the current treasurer or former president.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the President.
