Sakhi Utsav celebrated across all 7 operational units of Hindustan Zinc

More than 9000 women participated in traditional games, cultural performances and meaningful dialogue on gender equality

In a resounding celebration of empowerment and inclusion, Hindustan Zinc hosted Sakhi Utsav across all its operational units - Pantnagar, Agucha, Chanderiya, Zawar, Dariba, Debari and Kayad. More than 9000 Sakhis participated showcasing collective strength and symbolizing the power of unity and resilience. The event was graced by the presence of notable dignitaries, including government officials and senior Hindustan Zinc executives, fostering dialogue and camaraderie amongst the Sakhi community.

Under the theme #InspireInclusion, Sakhi Utsav hosted a myriad of activities ranging from traditional games like Tug of War, Jalebi race, and Matka race. Further, Sakhi women also showcased their hidden talents through mesmerizing traditional dance performances and elegant fashion walks. The "Sakhi Utsav" transcended mere entertainment, serving as a platform for meaningful dialogue and action. The "Uthori" segment featured pivotal discussions against gender inequality, amplifying critical voices and promoting initiatives to address this crucial issue.

As Hindustan Zinc continues its journey towards a more equitable and inclusive future, the resounding success of Sakhi Utsav ignites a ripple effect of positive change in the society. Hindustan Zinc every year conducts Sakhi Utsav across its operational locations thus showcasing company’s commitment to promoting gender equality and contributing towards building an inclusive environment for all.

Sakhi project was incorporated by Hindustan Zinc to bring socio-economic empowerment amongst rural & tribal women by mobilising them into Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and developing a platform that provides vocational training or carve a path of entrepreneurship. Currently, the program is transforming the lives of around 27,000+ Women and continues to act as a beacon of hope not just for them but for the communities around them.
