Kota: The President of the Sanctioned Journalists Federation, former Joint Director of the Information & Public Relations Department and senior journalist Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal, along with independent journalist K.D. Abbasi, D.N. Gandhi (Editor of Bharat Ki Mahima), Brijraj Singh Solanki (Editor), Assistant Editor Qadar Khan, senior journalists Hemant Sharma and Anil Bhardwaj, and legal advisors Advocate Akhtar Khan Akela and Advocate Ikramuddin Khan, expressed their gratitude to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
They stated that the Federation had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister requesting an increase in pension for sanctioned journalists, the announcement of housing schemes for journalists, and other related demands. In response, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced an increase in pension for sanctioned journalists from ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 and a pension of ₹9,000 for widows of deceased journalists. Additionally, housing schemes for journalists were also declared.
The Sanctioned Journalists Federation welcomed the Chief Minister’s decision, expressing their sincere gratitude. They also urged the government to further simplify the sanctioning rules and ensure that non-sanctioned journalists working in newspapers receive all possible benefits, so they too can feel secure and supported.
