Greater Kota Press Club Organizes Tribute Meeting in Memory of Veteran Journalist Narayan Bareth

Kota: The Greater Kota Press Club organized a tribute meeting at Shanti Prakash Hall in Gumanpura in memory of renowned journalist Narayan Bareth. During the event, it was announced that the Press Club will annually present a cash award of ₹11,000 to a talented journalist in his memory.

The announcement was made by Press Club General Secretary Anil Bhardwaj. President Sunil Mathur said that Narayan Bareth was among the distinguished journalists not only of Kota but also of Rajasthan and the entire country. To keep his legacy alive, the award will be instituted in his name. He added that Bareth’s life was full of struggles, yet he never deviated from his goals.

Paying tribute, BJP leader Hanuman Sharma described Bareth as a man of high ideals and a true friend who always helped others. He said Bareth played a leading role in several movements and remained dedicated to honest and ideal journalism throughout his life. Sharma also recalled a few incidents highlighting Bareth’s calm and thoughtful personality along with his sharp wit.

Dr. Sudhir Gupta remembered Bareth for his satirical and sharp writing style, saying that he remained an inspiration for many and would always be remembered with respect by the people of Kota.

BJP leader Pankaj Mehta described Bareth as an excellent writer, thinker, and principled personality with a remarkable command over language. He said Bareth never compromised even in difficult circumstances and, in the early stages of his life, even worked as a clerk in the Kota court. He lived his life with dignity and self-respect.

Remembering him emotionally, Om Advani called Bareth a treasure of knowledge and a person with exceptional interpersonal skills. He said anyone who met him once could never forget him due to his impressive personality.

Congress leader Ravindra Tyagi stated that Bareth had a unique identity in journalism and achieved a level that very few people reach. BJP leader Hirendra Sharma said Bareth lived a simple life and taught valuable lessons to many. His life was based on strong values and principles.

Congress leader Arun Bhargava said Bareth never compromised with his principles despite facing numerous challenges and stood firm like a rock. On this occasion, he also announced that body and eye donor Smt. Amita Bhargava and Anand Academy Educational Institution will present a shield annually in Bareth’s honor.

Senior advocate Prem Singh also shared memories of his time spent with Narayan Bareth.

Among those present at the tribute meeting were Abdul Khaliq, Kishore Madnani, Hari Bhajan Panjwani, Hemlata Sharma, Shailesh Pandey, Dinesh Maheshwari, Hari Ballabh Meghwal, K.D. Abbasi, Ramesh Gandhi, and several members of the Greater Kota Press Club including Hemant Sharma, Badri Prasad Gautam, Harimohan Sharma, Chandra Prakash Sharma, Hans Pal Yadav, K.L. Jain, Subodh Jain, Pawan Ahuja, Shyam Rohida, Dilbagh Arora, Shakir Ali, Yogesh Singal, and Rubina Qazi.

The program was conducted by General Secretary Anil Bhardwaj. During the ceremony, participants paid floral tribute to the portrait of Narayan Bareth and observed two minutes of silence in his memory.
