Rain Brings Joy to Udaipur: Lakes Overflow as Collector Inspects Udaisagar

Udaipur,  Following the dry spell of Sawan, the arrival of the monsoon in the Bhadrapad month brought joy to the Lake City on Tuesday. From early morning, thunderous clouds created a ruckus and showered the region with much-needed rain. The moderate to heavy rainfall left the city smiling as the lakes began to overflow. By midday, major water bodies in Udaipur, including Lake Pichola, Swaroop Sagar, Thoor Ki Paat, Chhota Madar, and Bedla Anicut, were filled to capacity. Residents flocked to view the water flowing from Pichola to Swaroop Sagar and ultimately into Udaisagar.

In response to the heavy rainfall and the rising water levels, District Collector Arvind Poswal visited Udaisagar to inspect the situation. After opening the gates of Udaisagar, he assessed the water inflow and outflow of the lake. He also visited the Udaisagar Dam and issued directives for maintaining the aesthetics and cleanliness of the adjacent park, as well as ensuring robust safety measures near the lakes. The Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department accompanied him during the visit.

Collector’s Advisory: Avoid Flowing Water

The Collector urged the public to avoid venturing into fast-flowing rivers and streams. He advised against entering or driving vehicles into the flowing water and emphasized the importance of vigilance and safety during this period.
