Udaipur, The GST reforms announced yesterday by Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman have been warmly welcomed by the Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI). UCCI President Shri Manish Galundia stated that the reforms would prove highly positive for the industry, service sector, and retail trade.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government has taken this historic step to encourage the construction industry, domestic trade, and exports. According to him, these reforms will provide significant relief to Indian industries in countering the 50 percent tariff imposed by the United States.
Direct Benefits to Consumers and Industry
Mr. Galundia explained that the abolition of two GST slabs and the reduction of GST rates on several commodities will directly benefit consumers. Essential goods will now be within the purchasing power of common citizens, leading to an increase in market sales. Rising sales will not only accelerate trade activities but will also create higher demand for goods. This, in turn, will positively impact the manufacturing industry by generating fresh orders in line with market requirements.
He emphasized that various industries and service sectors will gain considerably from the reduction in GST rates. This reform will inject new energy into the business community, create employment opportunities, and strengthen the Indian economy.
Vision for Inclusive Growth
Expressing confidence in the government’s initiative, Shri Galundia remarked that these reforms would embody the spirit of “Sabka Vikas” (development for all) and strengthen India’s position in global competition.
