Jaipur/Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman on behalf of the eight crore people of Rajasthan for the GST Council’s decision to simplify rates and provide relief to the common man. He stated that the reform would give maximum benefit to the poor, farmers, middle class, traders, and industrialists, while driving the economy at a faster pace.
Addressing a press conference at the Assembly on Thursday, Shri Sharma described the GST Council’s step as a “big and historic decision” in the direction of Goods and Services Tax reforms. He said that instead of four tax rates, only two will now remain applicable, making the system simpler and more effective.
Focus on Basic Needs and Festive Relief
The Chief Minister noted that the reform has been implemented keeping in mind the essential requirements of “roti, kapda, aur makaan” (food, clothing, and housing). He emphasized that this decision will directly benefit the masses and that the upcoming Diwali will be more special for every household due to this relief.
Commitment to Antyodaya and Development
Shri Sharma further highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Modi is fulfilling the vision of Antyodaya as envisioned by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, ensuring that the last person in society receives maximum benefits.
He added that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the double-engine government is working tirelessly for public welfare, and such decisions are playing a vital role in the mission of making both the nation and the states developed.
