Udaipur, 4 October – Lakecity Press Club organized a memorial gathering at the club premises in Chetak Circle on Saturday to honor the sudden demise of journalist Krishna Tanwar. Journalists and colleagues shared memories highlighting various facets of Tanwar’s life and work.

Kuldeep Singh Gehlot, President of Lakecity Press Club, remarked that Tanwar’s contribution to photojournalism is unforgettable. Through his impactful photo stories, he highlighted the struggles of people and became a helping hand for many. Gehlot noted that losing such a personality at a young age is an irreparable loss for the field of journalism.

Senior members Prakash Sharma, Kapil Shrimali, Om Poourbia, Ravi Sharma, Bhupendra Chaubisa, Munesh Arora, and Mukesh Hingad shared their personal experiences and memories of Tanwar. Prakash Sharma suggested initiating an insurance plan for journalists through the club to provide support during unexpected tragedies. Om Poourbia and other colleagues emphasized that all possible assistance would be provided through the Journalist Welfare Fund to support fellow journalists in need.

The memorial concluded with two minutes of silence and a floral tribute to honor Krishna Tanwar.

Prominent attendees included senior members and former presidents Rafique M. Pathan, Prakash Sharma, Kapil Shrimali, Bhupendra Chaubisa, Rajendra Hiloria, Abbas Rizvi, Avinash Jaganawat, Dr. Ravi Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Mukesh Hingad, Prakash Meghwal, Sunil Pandit, Bhagwan Prajapat, Om Poourbia, Nirmal Pandit, along with many other members of the journalism community.

Krishna Tanwar passed away on 2 October due to illness at the age of 42. Despite his short life, he dedicated around 20 years to photojournalism, contributing significantly to several national and local newspapers.
