Udaipur – The general elections for the posts of President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Salvi (Weaver) Samaj, Sathkheda, Kheroda Chowki, Udaipur were conducted peacefully and transparently on Sunday, 12 October 2025, at the Shrinath Samiti Bhawan, Glass Factory, Udaipur, as per the decision of the community’s Mahapanchayat. Polling began at 8:00 AM and concluded at 4:27 PM.

According to the voter list, there were 2002 registered adult male voters, including 419 from Kheroda, 548 from Modi, 520 from Medta, 202 from Kurabad, 191 from Girwa, and 122 from Gawardi. Three polling booths were set up — Booth No. 1 for Kheroda and Kurabad, Booth No. 2 for Modi and Gawardi, and Booth No. 3 for Medta and Girwa.

Additional Election Officers Tejpal Picholiya and Ganesh Dodiya provided training to the polling teams, while Bherulal Doli managed the financial accounts related to the election process. Each booth had one presiding officer and four polling officers, and ballot boxes were sealed at 7:45 AM in the presence of candidates and polling officials.

Voting commenced promptly at 8:00 AM after the official announcement and recorded a 72.62% voter turnout. After the conclusion of polling, the ballot boxes were sealed and secured under the supervision of the Chief Election Officer.

The counting process began at 5:45 PM in the presence of all candidates and counting representatives. Separate desks were arranged for each post, with two counting officers appointed per desk. A total of 1,454 ballots were received for the President’s post and 1,453 ballots each for the Secretary and Treasurer posts.

After four rounds of counting:

For the President’s post, Narayana Lal Salaya secured 615 votes, while Dalchand Ambaroti received 385 votes and Veniram Khandela 421 votes. 33 votes were invalidated.

For the Secretary’s post, Jagdish Chauhan won with 574 votes, followed by Ramesh Picholiya with 482 votes and Madan Manoti with 353 votes. 44 votes were invalidated.

For the Treasurer’s post, Hiralal Dodiya emerged victorious with 765 votes, while Vishnulal Sonarthi received 427 votes and Lalit Kumar Picholiya 205 votes. 56 votes were invalidated.

Following the announcement of results, the Chief Election Officer formally declared the names of the elected office bearers before the assembled community members. Subsequently, Shankarlal Sonarthi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected President Narayana Lal Salaya, Secretary Jagdish Chauhan, and Treasurer Hiralal Dodiya.

In his concluding remarks, Additional Election Officer Tejpal Picholiya extended gratitude to all voters, polling staff, and counting teams, noting that the election exemplified the community’s unity, discipline, and democratic spirit.
