Udaipur: A grand Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony was organized at RNT Medical College by the National Medicos Organisation (NMO), Udaipur, along with the students of the 2024 batch. The event also featured the unveiling of a portrait of Lord Dhanvantari and a Charak Shapath plaque at the college’s main porch.
The chief guest was Cabinet Minister for Tribal Area Development, Babulal Kharadi, while Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain attended as the special guest. The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Vipin Mathur. Dr. Bhuvnesh Champawat and Dr. Narendra Joshi served as conveners.


The ceremony commenced with lighting the lamp before the portrait of Bharat Mata and the recitation of Vande Mataram.
Minister Kharadi, in his address, advised students to imbibe the ideals of the Charak Shapath in their lives. Highlighting India’s cultural heritage, he urged them to stay rooted in national values and avoid excessive Western influence. He emphasized the importance of humility and courteous behaviour in medical practice, stating that a doctor’s good conduct can relieve half of a patient’s suffering.

MLA Tarachand Jain appreciated the crucial role of doctors in public service. He expressed concern over the lack of space on the campus and assured support for acquiring additional land for expansion. Referring to the long waiting list for MRI tests, he also requested the provision of an additional MRI machine.

Students Administered the Charak Shapath

Principal Dr. Vipin Mathur administered the Charak Shapath to the newly admitted students.
Dr. Sushil Sahu spoke on the historical and ethical significance of the oath, explaining its roots in the ancient Ayurvedic text Charak Samhita and its emphasis on the moral responsibilities of physicians. He informed that the National Medical Commission has now made the Charak Shapath mandatory for all medical students.

Unveiling of Lord Dhanvantari’s Portrait

The dignitaries unveiled the portrait of Lord Dhanvantari. NMO President Dr. Rahul Jain highlighted the significance of Dhanvantari, describing him as one of the 14 divine treasures emerging from the Samudra Manthan and revered as the deity of Ayurveda and healing.
Students Preeti Agarwal, Abhishek Yadav and Aman Kumawat shared their experiences.
The programme was conducted by medical students Khush Raj Singh Solanki and Khyati Singh Bhati.
The event was attended by senior doctors, teachers and dignitaries including Hemendra Shrimali, Vishnu Nagda, Vishnu Menaria, Additional Principal Dr. Vijay Gupta, and Pacific Dental College Vice Principal Dr. Bhagwan Sahay.
