Jaipur. Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani called upon the youth to be vigilant against divisive forces in the country and the world, and to resolve to promote the spirit of national unity and integrity, playing their part and a crucial role in building a developed India by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  He also urged the youth to ignite the spirit of a great India in their respective areas.

Shri Devnani was addressing the participants as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the seven-day National Integration Camp organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and the Regional Directorate of National Service Scheme, Jaipur, at S.S. Jain Subodh PG College in Jaipur on Wednesday. 200 young people from 11 states participated in this camp, including 100 male and 100 female students.

Discussing the events taking place in South Asia, Assembly Speaker Shri Devnani appealed to the youth to prioritize national unity and integrity and develop a spirit of dedication to the nation. He said that the main objective of the National Integration Camp is to bring the youth together on one platform and strengthen the spirit of national unity, integrity, brotherhood, and goodwill. This camp is a symbol of Indian ideology where education, values, culture, cooperation, participation, brotherhood, and social responsibility move forward together. Indian culture is so tolerant that we show compassion even to ants by feeding them flour.  This camp is also a useful event that promotes the spirit of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' (One India, Great India) in our country of diversity. Shri Devnani appealed to the youth to embrace Prime Minister Narendra Modi's philosophy of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas" (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all) and move forward by working with a spirit of mutual trust, dialogue, and participation. He said that Swami Vivekananda had urged the youth to "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached." Similarly, our pride of West Bengal, Subhas Chandra Bose, also fought for the country's independence.  The youth should be inspired by this spirit to set their life goals, become well-versed in modern science and technology, and strive to be good citizens while also working for the weaker sections of society. He said that this camp would only be considered successful when the youth of India move forward rapidly, joining the mainstream of the country's progress.

The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly urged the youth to cultivate a sense of pride in their hearts, believing that "My India is Great," and to overcome the inferiority complex instilled during the colonial era. He encouraged them to have the courage to show the world that India was never inferior to any other nation, neither in the past nor in the present. He said that India's ancient culture, the Vedas, and the Puranas demonstrate that India taught the world the art of living and a way of life, evidence of which can be seen in ancient civilizations like Mohenjo-daro and Harappa. Our country has never lagged behind in any field, including art, culture, history, and education.  Regarding science and technology, scholars like Aryabhata, Bhaskaracharya, and Charaka are shining examples.  The Pushpak Vimana from the Ramayana era, Sanjay narrating the Mahabharata war to Dhritarashtra from thousands of miles away, the surgery resembling Ganesha's trunk, the lifelike sculptures of Ajanta and Ellora, and the chemical engineering involved in their creation are just a few examples that showcase India's rich civilization, art, culture, science, and technological advancements. Today's youth should deeply study this great Indian culture and feel proud of it. Mr. Devnani mentioned that as the Education Minister of Rajasthan, he had removed chapters on figures like Akbar the Great from school textbooks and included subjects and lessons on figures like Maharana Pratap the Great. The main objective behind this was to highlight the glorious history of Rajasthan and India.

The Speaker advised the youth to not only acquire bookish knowledge but also to go beyond it and embrace practical knowledge in their lives. He urged them to prioritize patriotism and devotion to the nation and strive to become self-reliant. He also encouraged them to use only indigenous products made in India. He appealed to the youth to refrain from any kind of intoxication and to resolve to give up any bad habits. He said that today's youth should also understand the importance of yoga. Thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the importance of yoga is now understood throughout the world, and International Yoga Day is celebrated globally on June 21st. Mr. Devnani appealed to the youth to actively contribute to the success of campaigns related to the environment, pollution, and cleanliness, in line with the spirit of the Prime Minister. On this occasion, camp in-charges and students from Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi also shared their experiences regarding the camp.

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Devnani, presented mementos and certificates of appreciation to the youth who had come from various states to the National Integration Camp. He also posed for a group photograph .Also present on this occasion were Mr. S.P. Bhatnagar, Regional Director of the National Service Scheme, Jaipur; Camp Coordinator Dr. Vishal Gautam; Principal of Subodh College, Prof. Dr. Renu Joshi; College Advisor and former IAS officer Mr. Pradeep Borath; and Dr. Vikas Bairathi. At the end of the ceremony, Dr. K.K. Kumawat, Regional Coordinator of the National Service Scheme (NSS), delivered the vote of thanks.
