Udaipur. There is a pressing need for industries to adopt scientific waste management systems, promote waste-to-energy initiatives, and focus on modern and sustainable technologies to control carbon emissions. These views were expressed by Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Founder of Re Sustainability Limited (ReSL), Shri Ayodhya Rami Reddy, during a meeting organized by UCCI in Udaipur.
He emphasized that industries should be extensively educated about energy conversion through Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), waste-to-energy plants, strategies to reduce carbon footprints, and advanced wastewater treatment systems such as STP, ETP, and CETP. He further suggested that delegations from UCCI and UIWM&RC should undertake study visits to established waste-to-energy projects in Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad, so that the most effective and practical models can be adopted for industries and urban local bodies.
Highlighting the importance of Fugitive Waste Management Practices, Shri Reddy stated that special attention must be given by municipal corporations to control uncontrolled waste discharge, open dumping, and emissions of dust and gases. He stressed the need for issuing clear and practical guidelines for urban and industrial waste management, which would not only protect the environment but also promote public health and the reuse of energy resources.
The meeting also discussed that for improved waste management and energy generation, the Urban Development Department and municipal corporations should jointly prepare a comprehensive proposal and present it to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, enabling the implementation of a sustainable, modern, and environmentally friendly waste management system in the state.
On this occasion, the Hon’ble guest Shri Ayodhya Rami Reddy was welcomed by former UCCI President Shri Arvind Singhal. UCCI Patron Shri B.H. Bapna also shared his valuable views during the meeting. The meeting was chaired and key points were noted by UCCI President Shri Manish Galundia. An introduction to the program was presented by Shri Komal Kothari, Executive Chairman of UIWM&RC.
Prominent attendees included Shri Hansraj Chaudhary, Shri Anil Mehta, Shri J.S. Kamyotra (Former Member Secretary, CPCB), Shri Anil Mishra (JK India), Shri P.S. Talesara, and several other distinguished members.
At the conclusion of the program, UCCI President Shri Manish Galundia delivered the closing address and presented a memorandum.
