Udaipur: On the occasion of the fourth death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, the cultural organization ‘Suron Ki Mandali’ organized a grand musical tribute at the Madhushree Banquet Hall, Ashoka Palace. The event, which continued late into the night, saw more than 30 talented musicians perform immortal songs of Lata Mangeshkar, offering heartfelt homage to the legendary singer.
Founder-President Mukesh Madhwani stated that the organization’s primary goal is to connect people through music while promoting cultural and social harmony. He also announced that in the coming days, special music programs will be organized in Mewari and Sindhi languages, enabling today’s youth (‘Gen-Z’) to stay connected with their mother tongue and cultural roots.
The program’s chief guest, Ranjana Bhati, inaugurated a detailed booklet on Lata Mangeshkar’s life, prepared by artist Chandraprakash Chitoda.
The musical evening commenced with Saraswati Vandana performed by Geeta Singh Rathore and Matrushakti, setting a devotional tone. This was followed by soulful renditions of popular songs: “Lag Ja Gale” by Secretary Arun Chaubisa, “Tu Kitni Achhi Hai” by Ramesh Datwani, “Ye Dil Aur Unki Nigahon Ke Saaye” by Rajkumar Bapna, and “Mera Dil Ye Pukare Aaja” by Ranjana Bhati, captivating the audience.
Other performers included Mahavir Jain, Ishwar Jain, Gopal Gothwal, Narayan Lohar, H. Kazi, Narayan Salvi, Dr. Eenu Rawal, Madhubala Chainani, Shagun Jain, Hema Joshi, Dilip Gabhrani, Sandeep Bansal, Jyoti Modiyani, Ambalal Sahu, Manohar Mukhia, and Neelam Patwa, among others, who all delivered remarkable performances.
Coordinator Ramesh Datwani shared that a musical picnic will soon be organized for members at a site in Selu village, provided by the Moiyendra Foundation, where a gaushala, Radhe Krishna temple, Happy Home, and Music Museum are being planned. The land for the project was consecrated on 26 January.
Mukesh Madhwani also shared details of the upcoming “Shiv Stuti” program on 16 February to mark Maha Shivaratri, along with a “Bal Shiv” competition for children aged 4 to 14. He appealed to the residents of Udaipur to encourage their children to participate in large numbers, helping them connect with Sanatan culture. The success of the event was credited to special contributions from Rajkumar Bapna, Ishwar Jain, and other members.
