Udaipur: At the Rajasthan State Bharat Scouts and Guides State-Level Award Ceremony held on Wednesday at the State Training Centre, Jagatpura, Jaipur, Udaipur District Collector Mr. Namit Mehta was honored with the prestigious Silver Elephant Award, the highest national award of Bharat Scouts and Guides. The award was presented by the Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Haribhau Bagde.
Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Otaram Devasi, State Chief Commissioner Niranjan Arya, State Secretary P.C. Jain, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
According to Udaipur Scout C.O. Surendra Kumar Pandey, Mr. Mehta was recognized for the historic and grand organization of the 18th National Scout-Guide Jamboree during his tenure as District Collector of Pali in 2022–23. Pandey stated that the Silver Elephant Award is the highest national honor of Bharat Scouts and Guides. It is conferred upon distinguished personalities, including eminent leaders, politicians, administrative officers, ministers, and industrialists, for their exceptional contributions to the Scout and Guide movement in India.
On Mr. Mehta’s achievement, administrative and departmental officials, public representatives, employees, and citizens extended their congratulations and best wishes. Among those who conveyed their greetings were Assistant State Organization Commissioner (Scout) of Udaipur Division, Manmohan Swarnkar; District Chief Commissioner (Scout), Pratibha Gupta; District Education Officer Dr. Lokesh Bharti; District Secretary Hiralal Vyas; District Treasurer Mahak Sanadhya; C.O. Guide Abhilasha Mishra; along with all Chief Block Education Officers, Assistant District Commissioners (Scout and Guide), Secretaries of Local Associations, and Scout-Guide workers of the district.
