Udaipur: The city of lakes turned into a city of celebration on Wednesday as its proud daughter, mountaineer Manasvi Agrawal, returned home after conquering two of the world’s most formidable peaks. From the airport to her residence, streets echoed with cheers as citizens showered her with flowers and admiration.


Having successfully hoisted the Indian tricolor atop Mount Aconcagua (23,000 ft) in South America and Mount Vinson Massif, the highest peak of Antarctica, Manasvi described the achievement as the fulfillment of a dream she carried in her heart for years.

“I always dreamed of unfurling the Indian flag on the highest peaks. I saw that dream for my country — and I achieved it. But my journey does not stop here,” she said with determination.

An Emotional Homecoming

Manasvi landed at Udaipur airport at 9:30 AM, where her father Dr. T.R. Agrawal and mother Saroj Gupta embraced their daughter after nearly three months, overwhelmed with emotion. Students from MDS School, led by Director Shailendra Somani, welcomed her with flower petals. Members of the Agrawal community and various social organizations also gathered to honor her achievement.

At Rajasthan Vidyapeeth’s Homeopathy College, NCC cadets presented a Guard of Honour. Prominent dignitaries and community leaders joined the celebrations at multiple locations across the city. From Pratapnagar to Bhuvana, enthusiastic residents lined the streets to congratulate the city’s trailblazer.

Strength Beyond Limits

Speaking to the media at her residence, Manasvi shared that mountaineering demands not only physical endurance but extraordinary mental strength.

“Even trained mountaineers sometimes give up. But patience, courage, and determination carried me forward,” she said.

She braved extreme conditions, including temperatures plunging to minus 50 degrees Celsius and fierce winds reaching 70–80 km/h. Out of 22 climbers from across the globe who attempted Aconcagua alongside her, only 12 successfully reached the summit.

Making History

With her successful ascent of Mount Vinson Massif, Manasvi became the first person from Rajasthan to conquer Antarctica’s highest peak. She also became the second woman from Rajasthan to summit Mount Aconcagua, following paramilitary mountaineer Geeta Samota.

Mount Kilimanjaro (Highest peak of Africa)

In less than five months, she has summited the highest peaks of four continents, marking a remarkable milestone in her quest toward scaling the Seven Summits.

“In the toughest moments of the mission, it is family that gives you strength. Their encouragement makes victory certain,” she said.

As Udaipur celebrates its courageous daughter, Manasvi Agrawal stands not just as a mountaineer, but as an inspiration — proving that with resilience and resolve, even the world’s highest summits bow to determination.
