Udaipur: Under the Ajmer Division of Indian Railways, an Electric Loco Trip Inspection Shed has been established at Udaipur City Station on the Ajmer–Udaipur section. Along with this, Stabling Line No. 9 has been converted into a running line, and a new passenger platform line (Line No. 10) has been developed. Signaling and associated infrastructure works have also been completed.

According to Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhutada, the initiative strengthens operational efficiency and enhances station infrastructure. Developed in coordination with the Gati Shakti Unit and other departments, the new trip shed includes two inspection pits and a TRD office/depot building.

The facility enables short-duration inspections and minor maintenance of electric locomotives, including checks of pantographs, brake systems, safety mechanisms, and cleaning to ensure uninterrupted operations. Overhead equipment (OHE) work for the shed has been completed, while remaining OHE work on Lines 9 and 10 will be finalized during upcoming traffic blocks. Platform work linked to Line 10 is targeted for completion by April 30, 2026, reflecting Ajmer Division’s commitment to railway modernization.
