Jaipur/Udaipur: Tribal Area Development (TAD) Minister Babulal Kharadi stated that the state government is firmly committed to the holistic upliftment of tribal communities in Rajasthan. He emphasized that priority is being given to education, healthcare, infrastructure, skill development, and employment generation in tribal-dominated regions, with continuous progress being ensured through various schemes and campaigns.

During the Budget Session, the Assembly passed the department’s grant demands amounting to ₹381.99 billion (₹38,199.72 crore) by voice vote.

2,593 Development Works Completed in Two Years

Minister Kharadi informed that under the Tribal Participation Scheme, 2,593 development works have been completed over the past two years with an expenditure exceeding ₹346 crore.

Under the Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, comprehensive development activities are being carried out in 6,019 villages across 37 districts of the state. A special campaign conducted from June 15 to July 15 last year ensured extensive implementation of schemes related to infrastructure, agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, healthcare, and employment in Scheduled Tribe-dominated villages. Rajasthan also received national recognition for the effective execution of this campaign.

Focus on Quality Education and Employment

He further stated that repair and upgradation works of hostels for Scheduled Tribe students are being undertaken at a cost of ₹83 crore. Through the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, tribal youth in 26 districts are being trained by expert trainers to ensure better grassroots implementation of government schemes.

‘Adi Seva Kendras’ Established in 5,093 Villages

A total of 5,093 Adi Seva Kendras have been established across the state, functioning as single-window citizen service centers. These centers provide tribal citizens with information about government schemes, grievance redressal mechanisms, and quick relief services.

To honor the culture, heritage, and sacrifices of tribal communities, November 15 is celebrated every year as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas (Tribal Pride Day) on the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Birsa Munda. The period from November 15, 2024, to November 15, 2025, is being observed as Tribal Pride Year, featuring various cultural, literary, and creative activities.

Under the Saundh Maati Adi Dharohar Documentation Scheme, tribal musical instruments, traditional cuisines, faith sites, historical heritage, paintings, wood and stone art, folk dances, and songs are being documented and preserved.

Promotion of Tribal Culture

To promote tribal culture, the National Tribal Food Festival was organized in Udaipur from September 15 to 17 last year, providing wider recognition to tribal cuisine and traditional food practices.

Free Coaching for Tribal Girls and Forest Rights Facilitation

In the healthcare sector, toll-free numbers have been issued to assist patients suffering from anemia. Upon receiving a call, ambulances transport patients from their homes to hospitals to ensure timely treatment.

Additionally, tribal girls studying in Class 11 are being provided free coaching facilities. To expedite the distribution of forest land rights titles to tribals residing in forest areas, dedicated cells have been established at both district and state levels.

Minister Kharadi reiterated that the government is working with a comprehensive roadmap to ensure inclusive and sustainable development of tribal communities across Rajasthan.
