Udaipur | The “Acharya Bhikshu Pragya Samman 2025” was awarded to Dr. Jagmohan Humar and Dr. Lalita Jogad at a ceremony organized jointly by Acharya Bhikshu Alok Sansthan, Kelwa and Vigyan Samiti. The award was presented by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab Gulab Chand Kataria, former Member of Parliament Arjun Lal Meena, and Engineer Akhilesh Joshi.

In his address, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria stated that continuously honoring goodness naturally diminishes the influence of evil. He also remarked that presenting a book is one of the greatest forms of respect. Praising the work of Vigyan Samiti, he said that building a person’s character is the highest form of service, which the committee is dedicated to.

The program began with the national song and the national anthem. Guests were welcomed and honored by Dr. K. L. Totawat and Pawan Kothari. Dinesh Kothari, President of Acharya Bhikshu Alok Sansthan, delivered the welcome address and introduced the institution. Kul Pramukh Kundan Lal Kothari explained the background of the award, while Dr. L. L. Dhakad conducted the award ceremony.

According to media coordinator Prof. Vimal Sharma, Dr. Jagmohan Humar and Dr. Lalita Jogad, both recipients of the prestigious Order of Canada, were honored with the Acharya Bhikshu Pragya Samman 2025 for their outstanding contributions. The award included a cash prize, citation certificate, memento, literature, shawl, traditional turban, and ceremonial stole.

Dr. K. P. Talesara and Prakash Tated introduced the awardees. Dr. Jagmohan Humar is a world-renowned earthquake scientist and social worker. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, he received Canada’s highest civilian honor, the Order of Canada. His life has been dedicated to education, social service, and the promotion of Jain philosophy.

Dr. Lalita Jogad, originally from Maharashtra, has devoted her life to literature and Jain philosophy. She has received recognition in more than ten countries for her exceptional work and currently serves in 44 social, religious, educational, and literary organizations in various roles. Her notable achievements include a collection of 100 poems on the birth centenary of Acharya Tulsi, 1,111 poems dedicated to mothers, and 1,121 poems on Acharya Mahapragya, along with 1,450 world records credited to her name.

The program was anchored by Mrs. Leena Jain, while the vote of thanks was delivered by committee president Dr. Mahip Bhatnagar. The event concluded with the national anthem followed by a fellowship lunch.
