A district-level ceremony marking International Women’s Day was organized on Sunday at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Udaipur under the aegis of the district administration and the Women Empowerment Department. The event was attended by Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani, District Collector Namit Mehta, and ADJ Kuldeep Sharma as chief guests.


During the program, the state-level celebration held in Hanumangarh in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was also telecast live. Several officials and public representatives including Additional District Collector Jitendra Ojha, Joint Director Agriculture Sudhir Verma, social worker Chandrapt Singh Chauhan, and Deepak Sharma were present.

At the beginning, Deputy Director of the Women and Child Development Department Nandlal Meghwal and his team welcomed the guests. Selected women were honored under the Pannadhay Security and Honour Scheme and Mata Yashoda Award, receiving certificates and mementos for their outstanding work. Departmental personnel with exceptional service were also felicitated.

Speaking at the event, Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani highlighted the vital role of women in society and stressed the need to ensure that government welfare schemes reach eligible women. District Collector Namit Mehta said women’s empowerment is not limited to one day but is a continuous process. He added that the administration is consistently working for women’s safety, education, and self-reliance, and society must remain sensitive to women’s rights and dignity.

Honours and Awards

During the ceremony, several individuals and organizations including One Stop Center Udaipur, Rahda Foundation, Anjali Surana, Champadevi Meena, Pushpa Meghwal, Sanju Suthar, Harikanta Dashora, and Revanti Nagar were honoured with the Pannadhay Security and Honour Award.

The Mata Yashoda Award was presented to women from various villages including Dimple Paliwal, Lalita Vaishnav, Tulsi Devi, Sushila Regar, Laxmi Meena, Pinky Meghwal, Ambavi Meghwal, Nirmala Bairagi, Gayatri Shrimali, Farzana Bana, Chandrakanta Suthar, Reena Ameta, and Yogita Lohar, among others.

Outstanding departmental employees such as Ashok Vaishnav, Komal Kumar Vaya, Taruna Lohar, Paridhi Patel, and Ratan Singh Rajput were also honoured. Additionally, several grassroots workers received the Best Sathin Award for their remarkable contributions.

Officials from the Agriculture Department including Mitali Rathore, Yogita Ranawat, Ritika Hada, Shakuntala Paliwal, Upma Vashishtha, Kalavati Khatik, Bhavna Dangi, Jayashree Jhala, Ratan Baranda, Tinulata Charan, and Kavita Chaturvedi were also recognized for their outstanding role in implementing agriculture department schemes.

The program concluded with appreciation for the contributions of women and frontline workers in building a stronger and more inclusive society. 🌸
