Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand: The play “Sirphiron Ka Ghar” delivered a captivating performance on the second day of the five-day “Himadri Natya Samaroh”, organized with the support of the North Central Zone Cultural Centre (@ministryofculturegoi) and Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University at the Lok Kala evam Sanskriti Kendra Auditorium, Srinagar (Garhwal).


The festival aims to provide a platform for the rich traditions and creative expressions of Indian theatre. The program was inaugurated by Prof. S.S. Bisht, noted historian and Chief Hostel Warden of Garhwal University, who lit the ceremonial lamp along with senior literary personalities.


The play “Sirphiron Ka Ghar”, written and directed by Vilas Janve, is a lively family-based story where humour takes centre stage. Through witty dialogues and playful family interactions, the performance kept the audience engaged while also presenting inspiring glimpses of the extraordinary character of Mewar’s legendary hero Maharana Pratap.

What makes the play distinctive is its creative use of multiple performing art forms including music, acting, singing, puppet theatre, and mime, making the 70-minute presentation both visually engaging and emotionally resonant. Along with entertainment, the play highlights social values, mutual love, and the importance of family bonds.

The cast featured Manish Sharma, Kiran Janve, Amit Menaria, Rekha Sisodia, and Vilas Janve, whose performances brought depth and energy to the stage.

The music for the production was composed by Samarth Janve and Bhuvan Sharma, while stage design was handled by Dharmesh Sharma. Sound and lighting design were managed by Rekha Sisodia and Amit Menaria.

The production was presented by Martand Foundation, Udaipur, which continues to promote art and culture through meaningful theatrical initiatives that celebrate India’s cultural heritage and storytelling traditions.
