Udaipur: The State-Level Youth Talent Award Competition organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, concluded on Saturday at the Darpan Auditorium, Shilpgram.

Director Furkan Khan of the West Zone Cultural Centre informed that the competition was organized to provide a state-level platform for youth aged 18 to 30 years to showcase their talents in folk singing, folk dance, folk instrumental music, and folk theatre. The event aimed to encourage young artists and help them gain recognition at the state and national levels. The competition was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Shilpgram, Udaipur.

The panel of judges included Dr. Prem Bhandari, Prof. Dr. Suresh Sharma, and Mrs. Vijaylakshmi Ameta.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijaylakshmi Ameta said that every young person should have knowledge of folk arts and traditions. Prof. Dr. Suresh Sharma emphasized that when folk theatre is presented with a proper understanding of traditional costumes, dialects, and cultural context, it becomes truly remarkable. Dr. Prem Bhandari congratulated the winners and advised those who did not succeed to continue improving their artistic skills.

Among those present at the event were Assistant Director (Finance & Accounts) Durgesh Chandwani, Superintending Engineer C.L. Salvi, Program Executives Hemant Mehta and Rakesh Mehta, and Dayaram Parmar. The program was conducted by Mukul Audichya and Siddhant Bhatnagar, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Director (Programs) Pawan Amarawat.

Participants competed in four categories: folk singing, folk dance, folk instrumental performance, and folk theatre.

Results of the Competition:

  • Folk Dance: Tara Kumari Kamad (Pali)

  • Folk Singing: Sher Mohammad (Barmer)

  • Folk Instrumental: Firoz Khan Manganiyar (Barmer)

  • Folk Theatre: Lokesh Kumar (Udaipur)

All the winners will receive a cash prize of ₹10,000 along with certificates. 🎭🎶
