Udaipur: Rotary Club Udai began the Rotary Year 2026–27 with a meaningful initiative centred on service, gratitude, and compassion by honouring sanitation workers and garbage vehicle drivers of the Municipal Corporation, recognizing their invaluable contribution to keeping the city clean and healthy.

The programme, led by Club President Sakshi Dodeja, honoured nearly 30 sanitation workers with traditional uparnas (ceremonial shawls) as a mark of respect. The club also distributed food packets to the workers in appreciation of their tireless service. The gesture brought smiles and a sense of pride to the honourees.

Speaking on the occasion, President Sakshi Dodeja said that sanitation workers begin their duties early every morning and play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall well-being of the city. She noted that despite working tirelessly without seeking recognition, they continue to serve society with dedication, making them the city's true "unsung heroes." She emphasized that honouring their service is the moral responsibility of every citizen.

She further stated that Rotary Club Udai remains committed to the values of service and humanity and will continue to recognize such unsung heroes while undertaking various community welfare initiatives in the years ahead.

The event was attended by Club Secretary Aniket Sharma, Assistant Governor Rajesh Chugh, Shalini Bhatnagar, Ritu Vaishnav, Navdeep Singh Nayar, Aditi Rathore, Dr. Bharti Sharma, Ashok Veerwal, Sanyam Sehlot, and several other club members.

The felicitation ceremony served as an inspiring reminder of the importance of acknowledging the dedication of sanitation workers and promoted a strong message of respect, gratitude, and social sensitivity towards those who work tirelessly to keep the city clean.
