Udaipur: The Shri Jain Shwetambar Murtipujak Vasupujya Maharaj Mandir Trust, Surajpole, will welcome Sadhvi Dr. Vidyutprabha Shriji and Thana-6 for Chaturmas 2026 with a grand ceremonial procession on Sunday, July 19. The four-month spiritual observance will transform Dadawadi into a centre for religious learning, meditation, self-discipline, and spiritual growth.

According to Trust President Raj Lodha, Chaturmas is the most significant period in Jainism for introspection, penance, and spiritual practice, during which monks and nuns remain at one place to guide devotees in leading a disciplined and value-based life.

The celebrations will begin with Navkarasi at the Town Hall from 7:30 a.m., followed by a grand Samaiya procession featuring elephants, horses, traditional bands, drums, and hundreds of devotees. The procession will pass through the city's main roads before reaching Dadawadi, where Sadhvi Dr. Vidyutprabha Shriji will receive a traditional welcome and deliver her inaugural blessings.

Throughout Chaturmas, daily discourses, scriptural study sessions, meditation, Navkar Mahamantra chanting, penance, and special programmes for youth and women will be organised. Major Jain festivals, including Paryushan, Samvatsari, and Ayambil, will also be observed.

The Trust also announced that a Gunanuvad Sabha to mark the 872nd Nirvana Anniversary of Dada Jindattsurishwar Maharaj Saheb will be held on July 25, while the formal Chaturmas Sthapana ceremony is scheduled for July 28. Organisers said the event aims to promote spirituality, moral values, harmony, and community service across all sections of society.
