UDAIPUR, India — The 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Mining Engineers' Association of India (MEAI), Rajasthan Chapter-Udaipur, concluded on a high note, celebrating the chapter's achievements over the past two years and formally installing its new executive committee for the 2026-28 term under the leadership of Mahesh Mathur.

The event began with a welcome address by outgoing Chapter President Praveen Sharma, who credited the chapter's continued growth to the active participation, dedication and teamwork of its members.

Chapter Secretary Dr. Asif Mohammad Ansari presented the annual report for 2025-26, highlighting the chapter's initiatives over the past two years. He said efforts to expand membership, encourage young mining engineers, increase the participation of women professionals, strengthen digital communication and promote collaboration among industry, academic institutions and government agencies helped the Udaipur chapter receive the prestigious MEAI Best Chapter Award for two consecutive years, 2024-25 and 2025-26.

Dr. Ansari said the chapter would continue to focus on technical excellence, scientific and sustainable mining, digital innovation, workplace safety, environmental protection and skill development for young mining professionals. He also emphasized strengthening partnerships with industry, educational institutions and government agencies while promoting international-level technical events, research and innovation.

During the ceremony, members who achieved notable accomplishments at the national and state levels were felicitated. Those honoured included Akhilesh Joshi, Praveen Sharma, Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bhatnagar, D.P. Gaur, Dr. Asif Mohammad Ansari, Dr. Hitanshu Kaushal, R.C. Purohit, Dr. S.K. Vashishtha, R.P. Mali, Syed Maqbool Ahmed, D.D. Shripat, Kishore, Uttam Pal Pahadia, Shiv Prasad Sharma, Dr. Jayant Sharma, Harish Mistry, Satish Audichya, Vivek Meena, Manuj Singh, Rakesh Rulania, Nehal Solanki and Samina Begum.

Treasurer R.C. Purohit presented the annual financial statement, which was unanimously approved by the members. The appointment of the auditor for the 2026-27 financial year was also ratified.

Patron Akhilesh Joshi announced the election results, and former MEAI National President Arun Kumar Kothari presided over the installation ceremony of the newly elected executive committee.

Executive committee members include Abhay Agrawal, Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Bhatnagar, D.D. Shripat, Naveen Aren, Vikesh Chittora and Lalit Bachhada.

In his inaugural address, President Mahesh Mathur pledged to take the chapter to new heights through technical excellence, innovation, youth leadership, scientific mining practices and greater participation in national-level activities.

Newly elected Secretary Dr. Hitanshu Kaushal outlined the priorities and action plan for the upcoming term and thanked members for their confidence and continued support.

The programme was anchored by student members Alina Anjum, Yash Malviya and Shalu Meena.
