Udaipur, The city of lakes is set to host a significant literary gathering as part of the ongoing Rajasthan Literary Movement. Organised jointly by the Rajasthan Media Action Forum and the Dr. Bhanwar Surana Memorial Felicitation Committee, a two-day series of literary and cultural programmes will be held on 30th and 31st August in Udaipur. The event is dedicated to the memory of the late journalist Dr. Bhanwar Surana.

On the inaugural day, the Lions Club Auditorium will witness a discussion on the theme “Media, Information Technology and Hindi in the 21st Century”, followed by a book launch, a poet’s symposium, and a special felicitation ceremony honouring personalities from literature, culture, and journalism. Coordinator of the Udaipur event, Dr. Shakuntala Saruparia, informed that the programme will be chaired by senior journalist and litterateur Anil Saxena, the architect of the 21st-century Rajasthan Literary Movement. The occasion will also feature a performance of the traditional Bhawai folk dance along with critical literary reviews.

On the following day, 31st August, the Oriental Palace Resort will host a National Hindi Symposium on the subject “The Relevance of Hindi in the Global Context”. This programme is being organised in collaboration with the World Hindi Council, New Delhi. The symposium will have Anil Saxena as the keynote speaker, while Dr. Vipin Kumar, Secretary General of the World Hindi Council, will preside over the session.

The two-day literary movement in Udaipur is being regarded as a significant milestone for promoting Hindi journalism, literature, and cultural awareness. Writers, poets, journalists, and literary personalities from across Rajasthan will assemble to share their ideas and experiences.

It is noteworthy that under the leadership and guidance of Anil Saxena, senior journalist, litterateur, and founder president of the Rajasthan Media Action Forum, six successful literary programmes have already been held in Udaipur as part of this literary movement.
