Udaipur: The elections for the Central Executive Committee of the Salvi (Weaver) community, including the posts of President, Secretary, and Treasurer, are scheduled to be held on October 12, 2025 (Sunday). The polling will take place at Shrinath Samiti Bhavan, Sundarwas, Udaipur, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through a secret ballot system.
As per the notified schedule, nomination forms can be filed from September 24 to October 4, with the last date for withdrawal set as October 5 at 2 p.m. Candidates contesting for the President’s post must deposit ₹51,000, while for the Secretary and Treasurer’s posts, ₹21,000 each is required along with the nomination form. Voters will be required to carry a valid identity card to cast their vote.
On Sunday, Narayanlal Salaya obtained his nomination form from the election office and formally announced his candidacy. He was accompanied by a large number of community members and youth supporters.
After filing his form, Salaya stated, “This is not the election of any single group but of the entire community. At the request of elders, youth, and academicians, and with the consent of Kishanpol Navyuvak Mandal, I have decided to contest. With the blessings of my deity and Guru Radaji Bavji, I seek the support and goodwill of community members from all circles.”
The entire election process will be conducted under the supervision of Chief Election Officer Shankarlal Sonarthi (Retired SDM), ensuring transparency and peaceful proceedings. The results will be announced immediately after counting on October 12.
