Udaipur: The six-day Durga Puja festival organized by the Bengali Kali Bari Society, Hiranmagari-4, at the Brahmin Samaj Seva Samiti premises witnessed elaborate rituals and celebrations on Maha Ashtami. On this auspicious occasion, 108 lotus flowers were offered to Goddess Durga on behalf of the society.

According to Society President Dr. Deepankar Chakraborty, the day began at 9:00 AM with a large gathering of community members offering floral tributes to the Goddess. The Sandhi Puja commenced at 1:21 PM, during which artists performed the traditional Dhunuchi dance accompanied by Dhak drumming. Offerings of kale and pumpkin were made to the deity, followed by the ceremonial presentation of the 108 lotus flowers. The puja concluded with distribution of prasad among the devotees.

In the evening, the Aarti was performed, with artists once again performing the Dhunuchi dance and playing the Dhak. This was followed by a cultural evening featuring performances of Bengali and Hindi songs, along with a Bengali play, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the festival.
