Udaipur, 2 October 2025. The city of lakes is set to witness a spectacular display of religious devotion and cultural heritage as the 77th Vijayadashami festival will be celebrated with grandeur and traditional fervor. Organized jointly by the Shri Sanatan Dharma Seva Samiti and Shri Balochistan Panchayat, Udaipur, the festival promises to inspire the city with messages of faith, culture, and unity.

Grand Processions and Cultural Performances
According to Jitendra Talreja, Vice President of Balochistan Panchayat, the celebrations will begin with a majestic procession featuring life-sized tableaux of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshman, and Lord Hanuman. The procession, accompanied by traditional drums and musical instruments, will pass through key city routes, creating an atmosphere of devotion and excitement. Following the procession, local artists will present colorful cultural performances, including dance, drama, and music highlighting religion, culture, and patriotism.

70-Foot Ravana Effigy to Captivate Audience
Manoj Kataria, Vice President of Balochistan Panchayat, shared that the festival’s main attraction will be the immense Ravana effigy, standing 70 feet tall and adorned with a unique combination of fireworks and lighting. Constructed using nearly 100 feet of bamboo poles, the effigy will thrill spectators as the sky lights up during the grand pyrotechnics, while the Gandhi Ground resonates with thunderous cheers.

Distinguished Guests to Add Prestige
Narendra Kthuria, Secretary of Shri Sanatan Dharma Seva Samiti, announced the presence of several prominent dignitaries, including:

Community and Organizational Tableaux Enhance the Procession
Manish Dembla, Co-Convener of the Committee, explained that the procession will include tableaux from various communities and organizations, showcasing the diversity of culture and tradition. These include Mewar Paliwal Samaj (4 tableaux), Ashray Samaj (2 tableaux), Vipra Foundation, Mewar Mushtache Club, ISKCON & Hare Krishna Movement, Bhopalpura Youth Organization, Mewar Sindhu Brigade, Shri Sanatan Dharma Seva Samiti, Omkareshwar Vyayamshala, Kheradiwara, Max Torque Superbikes Group, among others.

The procession will start at Shantan Mandir, Shakti Nagar at 3:30 pm, enter the stadium by 5:30 pm, with fireworks at 6:30 pm. The main Ravana burning will begin at 7:00 pm, followed by the effigies of Meghnath and Kumbhkaran at 7:15 pm.

Special Preparations for Safety and Convenience
Balochistan Panchayat President Nankaram Kasturi and General Secretary Vijay Ahuja confirmed extensive arrangements for safety, traffic management, and public convenience. Women and youth teams will assist in service and management. LED screens outside Gandhi Ground will ensure that even the large crowds can enjoy the festivities comfortably.

Committee’s Appeal – Embrace Lord Ram’s Ideals
Senior Vice President Ramesh Taldar urged citizens to participate in large numbers and emphasized that Vijayadashami is not just about burning Ravana but symbolizes the victory of righteousness over evil, humility over ego, and truth over falsehood. He encouraged everyone to embrace the ideals of Lord Ram to strengthen brotherhood, harmony, and faith in society.
