Udaipur — As part of the Western Naval Command outreach program, a car rally was flagged off on Sunday morning from Fatehsagar Lake by Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevelramani. Cadets of the First Raj Naval Unit enthusiastically held the national flag during the event.

The program was attended by Commandant Commander Shakeel Ahmed, trainers and athletes from the Regional Sports Training Centre, and other dignitaries. District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal stated that the rally, operated by 33 personnel of the Indian Navy with 12 vehicles, celebrates the adventurous operations and enduring legacy of the Mumbai Naval Dockyard.

Under the guidance of Commander Anuj Bhalla, the rally began on 14 November and will cover over 5,000 kilometers in 21 days, traveling from Mumbai to Shimla and back. The journey aims to connect the Navy with the nation, share stories of service, resilience, and pride, and inspire communities across India.

Through outreach programs at schools and colleges, the initiative seeks to motivate youth to consider careers in the armed forces and strengthen the bond between the defense services and society. On 15 November, an outreach event was held for around 500 students of various age groups, encouraging them to explore opportunities in the Indian Navy.
