Udaipur. The celebrations for International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) began today with great enthusiasm. The Signature Campaign Bus of Abhilasha Special School (AVV) was flagged off by Udaipur Range IG Gaurav Srivastava.
IG Srivastava signed the specially designed bus and wrote “I am Superman.” His inspiring message became a source of motivation and confidence for the deaf students present at the event. Prominent personalities including Bhagwat Babel and Anil Shah also attended the program, appreciated the initiative, and expressed their support for the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
The girl students tied a sacred thread (mauli) on the IG’s wrist and affectionately said that he is like an elder brother to AVV’s deaf students and will always stand by them. IG Srivastava pledged his full support to the children.
SEDA’s Chief Executive, Renu Singh, expressed gratitude to all the guests and informed that the signature campaign has been launched with the aim of spreading awareness in schools and colleges, increasing acceptance, and promoting solidarity with persons with disabilities.
Extending his best wishes, IG Srivastava delivered a powerful message:
“Remove ‘dis’ from disability.”
He then flagged off the bus, which will now visit various educational institutions where students will sign on it, pledging respect and inclusion for people with disabilities.
Following the launch, an art workshop was organized in which students of Abhilasha Special School, along with Vidya Bhavan School students, created beautiful artworks—presenting a wonderful example of inclusion.
