Udaipur: In the recently concluded elections of the Rajasthan Chess Association, Sonal Garg from Udaipur has been elected unopposed as the Vice President of the association.

The election process was completed on Wednesday during the general body meeting held at the Circuit House in Bikaner, in the presence of authorized representatives from various districts across the state. After the nomination process concluded at 2:30 PM, and the deadline for withdrawal of nominations passed, several candidates were declared elected unopposed.

Accordingly, Laxman Raghav from Bikaner was elected President, Vinesh Sharma as Secretary, Shailesh Gupta as Treasurer, and Sonal Garg from Udaipur as Vice President of the association.

The election proceedings were conducted in the presence of Ankush, who attended the meeting as an observer from the All India Chess Association.

The Udaipur District Chess Association expressed happiness over Sonal Garg’s election. Notably, she is the only woman elected as Vice President in the current executive committee of the Rajasthan Chess Association, making her appointment a significant achievement for women’s representation in the organization.
