Udaipur: A special meeting was organized today at the Directorate of Research, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur to extend a warm welcome to the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pratap Singh. The event was attended by all major investigators and scientists of the university.

The gathering also marked the 150th anniversary of the national song “Vande Mataram”, celebrated at the national level. On this occasion, the participants — including Director of Research Dr. Arvind Verma, Zonal Director of Research Dr. Amit Trivedi, and other scientists — sang “Vande Mataram” together to commemorate the day.

Dr. Arvind Verma presented an overview of the ongoing research activities and projects at the university, including details about AICRP, Network Projects, RKVY Projects, and PVT Projects. He emphasized the need to strengthen human resources and highlighted MPUAT’s role as a leading agricultural research institution in Rajasthan, known for its robust research base and the highest number of active projects at the national level.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Dr. Pratap Singh reflected on the significance of “Vande Mataram,” describing it not merely as a national song but as a symbol of India’s freedom and unity, which awakened the spirit of the nation. He noted that by depicting the motherland as a goddess, the song transformed devotion into patriotism and reshaped the course of Indian history.

Dr. Singh also outlined his priorities for enhancing research and development activities and reaffirmed his commitment to establishing MPUAT as a center of excellence in agricultural education and research. He encouraged all faculty and scientists to contribute collectively to the university’s progress.

The meeting was conducted by Dr. B.G. Chhipa, and the event concluded in an atmosphere of pride and dedication to national and institutional advancement.
