Udaipur — The 25th National Conference of the Rajasthan Agricultural University (RAU) Alumni Association was held on Sunday at the university’s new auditorium. The event saw the participation of around 500 alumni.

The chief guest, Dr. Kailash Sodani, Higher Education Advisor to the Governor, highlighted the crucial role of dairy and agriculture in India and across the world under current circumstances. He also emphasized the importance of using Hindi in higher education.

The presiding officer, Dr. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, Chancellor of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, spoke about the significant contribution of Indian farmers in eradicating hunger in the country and the role of agricultural scientists in promoting farming, preserving India’s rich agricultural heritage.

The keynote speaker, Ms. Devika Chakravarti, stressed that the future of the nation lies in the commercialization of agriculture, achievable through a combination of capital, resources, and innovation.

Dr. Manoj Mahla, the Dean of the university, welcomed the dignitaries, while Alumni Association President Narendra Singh Barahath appealed to everyone to support underprivileged agriculture students. The annual report was presented by Secretary Dr. Jagdish Lal Choudhary.

The event commenced with floral tributes to the statue of Maharana Pratap. Around 50 alumni were awarded cash prizes for their outstanding contributions. Notable attendees included former Vice-Chancellors Dr. Umashankar Sharma and Gabbar Singh Solanki, former MLA Randhir Singh Bhinder, Sunil Khandelwal, Dr. S.S. Lachawat, university professors, and police officer Jitendra Anchaliya. The vote of thanks was delivered by Joint Secretary Dr. Deepankar Chakravarti.

The conference highlighted alumni engagement, the promotion of agricultural innovation, and the importance of supporting the next generation of agriculture professionals.
