Udaipur. with the permission of the Dean of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur, Professor Dr. M. K. Mahla, the third-year B.Sc. Agriculture students undertook a practical field visit under the Landscape Science course. The visit was conducted at Maharana Pratap Airport, Dabok, where students learned about various aspects of landscape development.

During the visit, students observed the plantation patterns along the airport roadside, which included Neem, Molsari, Plumeria, Bougainvillea, Clerodendrum, Thevetia, Tecoma, Ceiba (Siris), Chinese Palm, Ixora, and hedge plants such as Caesalpinia. They also studied edging plants like Iresine and Alternanthera. Students learned about key landscape principles such as rhythm, breaking monotony, diversification, balance, and unity through practical observation of central verges and dividers.

Professor of Horticulture, Dr. L. N. Mahawar, explained how the airport landscape is enhanced by selecting plants based on flower color, flowering season, and leaf pattern. He emphasized choosing appropriate trees, shrubs, and climbers to help reduce air, sound, and dust pollution, thereby improving the airport's natural beauty and environmental quality.

DGM Operations, Mr. Ravindra Kumar and Mr. Bharat Gupta briefed the students about various landscape features at the airport, including plantations in different circles, residential colonies, children’s parks, Terminalia catappa trees used for shading, hedge and edge plantations, lighting, and utility features.

Later, the students visited the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur, where they studied landscape enhancement techniques suitable for hilly terrain. They received practical guidance on rock garden plantations and their role in strengthening the aesthetic appeal of newly developed institutional spaces. They also learned about water-efficient plants such as Bougainvillea, Clerodendrum, Shisham, Siris, Tecoma, and indoor plants like Scindapsus and Traveller Palm.

Security Officer Mr. Gajendra Singh provided detailed information to the group of 24 students. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks extended by Bagarama Poonia and Rahul Goyal for the guidance and support received during the program.
