Udaipur: Under the National Agricultural Development Project, the Directorate of Research, Udaipur, affiliated with Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, successfully conducted a two-day entrepreneurship training on mushroom cultivation from November 21 to 22, 2025, at the Mushroom Laboratory, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur. The training was organized under the project ‘Entrepreneurship Development among Women Farmers through Self-Help Groups in Southern Rajasthan.’

More than 60 women farmers from villages near Panchayat Samiti Falasia, Jhadol—including Bara Bhilwara, Amod-Barsi, Falasia, and Gurad—participated enthusiastically in the institutional training. Project In-Charge, Professor Vishala Bansal, stated that the main objective of the project is to empower women farmers with modern agricultural techniques and skills, fostering entrepreneurship so that they can become self-reliant and establish their own ventures.

During the training, Mushroom Project In-Charge, Professor (Dr.) N.L. Meena, provided detailed knowledge on scientific methods of mushroom cultivation, the important properties and benefits of mushrooms, cultivation techniques for Dhingri, Dudh Chatta, and Button mushrooms, compost preparation, seed management, kit management, fresh mushroom production, and marketing of mushroom products.

At the conclusion of the training, each woman farmer was given a Dhingri mushroom bag for demonstration purposes. The participants expressed their interest in taking mushroom cultivation forward as an entrepreneurial activity through their self-help groups.
