Udaipur: A one-day farmer training program on Advanced Production Technology in Spice Crops, sponsored by the Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development, Kozhikode, Kerala, was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pratapgarh on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
At the beginning of the program, the Senior Scientist and In-charge of the Kendra, Dr. B. L. Roth, highlighted the importance of spice crops in the district and encouraged farmers to adopt advanced cultivation practices to achieve higher economic returns and become self-reliant. He also provided detailed information on the prevention and management of diseases and pests affecting spice crops.
Mr. Shriramkishan Verma, Deputy Director, Horticulture, Pratapgarh, shared technical insights on the processing and value addition of major spice crops grown in the region. Mr. Ripudaman Singh Rajawat, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Pratapgarh, emphasized integrated nutrient management and various aspects of organic farming in spice crops.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar Damor, Technical Assistant of the Kendra, guided the farmers on a visit to the Spice Garden and provided detailed information related to it.
During the training, participating farmers Santosh Ahari and Babulal Meena shared their feedback and expressed the possibility of an increase in the area under spice crop cultivation in the Dhariyawad region.
A total of 50 farmers, including farm women, participated in the training program. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Ajay Kumar Sen, Technical Assistant of the Kendra.
