Udaipur,  Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Dr. Pratap Singh, visited the All India Coordinated Wheat and Barley Research Project being conducted at Rajasthan College of Agriculture. During the visit, he inspected the research farm and reviewed various improved and widely cultivated wheat varieties, interacting with scientists to understand the progress of ongoing research.

Project in-charge Dr. Abhay Dashora briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the objectives, experimental design, and treatment details of different wheat and barley trials. He also highlighted the productivity, disease and nematode resistance, quality, and regional adaptability of commonly grown varieties in the division, along with updates on current research activities. Information was also shared regarding newly developed varieties under the project and their potential benefits.

Appreciating the research efforts, Dr. Pratap Singh encouraged scientists to continue working toward the development of high-yielding and climate-resilient crop varieties aligned with farmers’ needs. He stated that strengthening the agricultural sector through advanced technologies and innovation would play a key role in enhancing farmers’ income.

Dean of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Dr. M. K. Mahla, along with other scientists, researchers, and staff members, was present on the occasion.
